Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close [ Movie Review ]

So I got up real early to catch the morning movie at AMC 'cause they're only $6.00 compared to $13.00 after noon. I went to see this movie pretty much because I wanted to compare it to the book and also to do an extra credit assignment.

Comparing book to movie

This movie is not bad, with great actors like Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock as Oskar's parents. Oskar is played by Thomas Horn, although he's 12 years old, he plays the role of a 9 year old. First of all, they left out a few people Oskar meets during his journey. They totally left out Mr.Black, the really old guy that never left his apartment and was supposed to go search with Oskar. They only had one very brief scene about Mr.Black hearing for the first time. I wanted to see Mr.Black's bed full of nails for each day that his wife died and that tree he stole from Central Park. I also wanted to see them meet the lady who lived in the Empire State Building, the Chinese guy who thought I<3NY meant I Love You in Chinese, and also the lady who had a museum of her alive husband's stuff. It was unfortunate that they cut all of that out of the movie. Instead of Mr.Black accompanying Oskar, it was his grandfather. In the movie, Oskar KNEW that was his grandfather while in the book he never really finds out but we assume after the end that he finds out eventually. But if someone who didn't read the book first saw the movie, they'd think it's a touching movie and that it's pretty decent. I think the director(s) did their best to stick to the plots and theme.

Omega supplements

I just bought the Nature Made Triple Omega supplements. When I was a little kid, I had to take these after meals and I actually liked it even though I had no idea what they do. I've never been a fan of pills but the chewable ones I love. I liked the taste of the gel it came in and the oils inside never bothered me. So today, I decide to take these again except I know the benefits of it. You get the same benefits if you consume fish regularly. Studies have shown it can decrease chances of stroke and lower risks of coronary heart disease. Since I'm turning into a bit of a health freak, I absolutely love these. Plus, they're not so expensive ! At my local Costco, they were about $18 for this big jar (180 pills), plus $5 off this month so I got it for $13! Cheap and healthy, what's not to love?

Sparkly Blues [ nail tutorial ]

Finally filmed & edited new video ! For this one, I showed how to do this on a fake nail, which made my life so much easier. The lighting is still not that good but it is better than my other videos haha, at least a bit clearer. But then again, I gotta kill the quality so a video won't take a day to upload. Enjoy !

How to make a healthy sandwich

This is a very healthy and delicious sandwich, with a balance of meat and very nutritious veggies which also makes a balance in flavor. It is made of turkey bacon, lettuce, avocado, cucumber, and optional mayo. The turkey bacon is a healthier substitute for pork bacon because it's way less in saturated fat. There are many health benefits and skin benefits of the cucumber with its fresh taste and scent. The avocado has natural healthy oils and can benefit our body and stay healthy. The mayo is optional if you think it tastes too plain. &of course the lettuce and bread to complete this sandwich.
STEPS:
1. Take 2 slices of bread, put them on your oiled pan and toast til it looks like toast. We're toasting it to make the bread harder so it can hold the sandwich better. If you have rolls, then that won't be a problem.
2. Wash all your veggies--lettuce, avocado, and cucumber.
3. Cut your veggies and put them aside.
4. Cook your turkey bacon. I used 6 slices and it made a lot of layers. One layer used up 2 bacon slices.
5. Put your cooked bacon on a paper towel to dry and soak up the oil.
6. Now it's time to arrange the sandwich ! I put the lettuce first with a layer of mayo, topping it with cucumbers then a layer of bacon. After that I topped it with lettuce, then a layer of avocado, bacon, lettuce again, cucumber and bacon.
7. I topped it this way of separating the bacon and putting them in between the veggies distributes the flavor more and balances the taste and texture.
8. That is all, enjoy your sandwich!

How to get smoother skin

Exfoliating is the secret to smoother and better skin. I recently bought this facial loofah when I was grocery shopping apparently. It was less than 2 dollars so I'm like okay let me try this. First when I bought it, it was like a flat piece of loofah then when I wet it with water, it just expanded to twice the size! To exfoliate, you would wet your face with warm water first because we don't want to be working with a dry surface that can get damaged. Then wet the loofah and move in a circular motion on your face, one spot at a time. That would get rid of all the dead skin cells and make your face smoother.
Usually in the winter time, my face feels really dry and have white flakes (dead skin cells) and using this eliminated most of that and it feels a lot smoother. I will try to stick to this product and hopefully not get lazy and stop.

Procrastinating

Woke up at 9:40AM to rush this paper that's due tomorrow. I do this all the time and on the last day of vacation I'd just kill myself with stress. So I gotta rush this before 5PM because I need to head to the post office to drop off a package of cards and a gift to family in California then I would need to go to the library and print out this 4-page paper about Coronary Heart Disease. It's not hard to do but it's just so much to write ! I should be writing right now, but yet I'm blogging 'cause I just got back to blogging on here yesterday. I need some food right now .. break time it is !

My Christmas 2011

I went with my mom to Rockefeller Center to see the giant Christmas tree, on our way there we saw lots of trees with these bright lights on them. Then we got to Rockefeller Center, the Christmas tree was huge and very bright, around Rockefeller was lots of trees with lights on them tree, I liked the ones with the blue lights. After taking pictures and videos, we went to Times Square mainly to take the N train, but I insisted on going to the big red staircase to take a picture and video of the beautiful Times Square. It wraps up with us heading to the train station to go home for the night.
